SYNOPSIS
Book design for Mutações. The Last Poet, a solo exhibition by Joana Escoval curated by Pedro Lapa, Museu Coleção Berardo, 13/02–16/08/2020. Bilingual (Portuguese and English) publication featuring an essay by Pedro Lapa, and contributions by Pedro Barateiro, Pedro Neves Marques, André Romão, and Joana Escoval. Features photographic reproductions of the exhibition. Published by Museu Coleção Berardo.
Book block printed in monochrome offset on uncoated paper (Lessebo Design), and four-colour offset on coated paper (Arctic Volume White). Bound as a softcover with cold glue and exposed spine. Dustjacket printed in silver pantone on debossed Favini Alga Carta (recycled paper containing algae fibres that proliferate excessively due to water pollution in the Venice Lagoon).
Set in Univers by Adrian Frutiger (1957) and Life by Francesco Simoncini and W. Bilz (1965). Titles generated randomly by an algorithm that draws thousands of particle beams originating from pre-determined letters set in Belgika by OSP (2017), under SIL Open Font License 1.1.
